IrememberthatIspenttheSpringFestivalinGuangzhouforthefirsttime.Someonesaid:“PeopleinGuangzhouarethosewhoreallybringspringtotheirhomes.”AndIquiteagreedwithit.SobeforethatSpringFestival,fatherwenttothemarketandboughtsomeplantsback.Itwasalittleorangetree,Ihadneverseenitbefore,soIlookedatitwithgreatinterest.IaskedDadifIcouldhavesome.Dadlaughed,andtoldmethiskindoforangeswasnotforeating,butforitssymbolicmeaning,itcouldbringusgoodluck.Dadalsoboughtsomecolorlightstomaketheorangetreemorebeautiful.Thenheputitnearthewindow.Welivedinasmallroom,anditwasnotasbigasthehousewenowlivein.ButwhenmyfamilyandIsawthecolorfultree,weallfeltwarmandnice.Weenjoyeditverymuch.HavingawonderfuldinnerontheSpringFestivalEveismyfamily’stradition,andthiswasn’tchanged.,SobeforethatSpringFestivalEve,welistedsomefoodwhichisourfavoriteonapieceofpaper,thenmyparentsspentseveralhourspreparingit.Atthedinnertable,wecheered,gavegoodwishestoeachother,tastedthefood,said“howdelicioustheyare”,whichmadeMum---thecooksatisfied.Theunusualdinnerlastedonehour.ThenwesatdownenjoyingtheprogramsonTVtogether.Welaughed,madejokeswitheachother.Howpeacefulitwas!When12o’clockarrived,weallwentout,saying“HappyChineseSpringFestival”toeveryone.Wewereallcheerful.

Astimewentby,ChineseSpringFestivalislessexciting,althoughweputmoreandmorecolorlightsaroundtheroom.Westillboughtorangetreeeveryyear,andourhouseismoreandmorebeautiful.Ijustthinksomethingwasmissing.Peoplenowdon’tlikehavingdinnerathomeontheSpringFestivalEve.Theyhavedinneratagreatrestaurant,andtheykeepongivingandreceivingluckymoney,andthemoneyismoreandmore.ButIthinkallthesethinsarenotimportant.Themostimportantthingisthatpeoplewhomyoucareaboutcanstaytogetherandenjoythehappytimewithyou.
